I hope everyone is having a great start to their summer. Those in the southern regions have been enjoying cooler temperatures than usual, while those in the northeast have experienced an unusually warm start to the season. Living in central Texas, I've grown accustomed to enduring extended periods of scorching days over 100 degrees. Like clockwork, around early August, my wife starts suggesting we move to Kentucky.  With its mild climate, home to my favorite bourbon, and being the birthplace of the Corvette, it doesn't sound like that bad of an idea.

Following an extended 4th of July weekend, we're gearing up for the summer MARS rail conference at Lake Geneva. This year, Tealinc is excited to sponsor its inaugural Pickleball tournament, adding a unique flair to the event. Nate Chilton, our Director of Railcar Leasing & Sales, will be representing Tealinc both at the conference and on the Pickleball court. It's our first time sponsoring such an event, so help us make it memorable!

Capture a photo with Nate on or around the pickleball court, share it on LinkedIn, or send it directly to me, and I'll send you some Tealinc SWAG. As an added bonus, if you are the one who I think shares the best photo, I'll send you a bigger box filled with our latest goodies!

Demolition Derby? Maybe not what you're expecting. Then again, maybe it is. Anyone who knows me has probably heard me talk about cars at some point. I come from a background in auto racing; both my grandfather and father spent their careers in the industry. In 1973, my grandfather and his business partner, Marcum, decided to organize a demolition derby at the local county fair. Despite modest expectations, the first year attracted over 200 cars. The show became an instant hit, a tradition at the fair. Now, 51 years later, the event still carries on. While the peak days of 300 entries are behind us, it remains a community favorite. Friends and family often ask how long I'll keep promoting the event. Truthfully, I have no idea. The chance to stay connected to my hometown and witness the camaraderie of the derby community, even among rival competitors, is something truly special. This year's derby takes place on July 30 in Monroe, MI. If you're in the area, I hope to see you there. We're always on the lookout for more drivers, but spectators are more than welcome too.

The middle of the year offers a perfect opportunity to pause and reassess your achievements. For us, it's an ideal moment to assist our customers in evaluating their railcar fleets. What do you envision for your business in the next 6, 12, or 18 months? The key to staying ahead is thoughtful planning. If you're considering expanding your railcar fleet, we're here to help. Conversely, if your fleet feels too extensive, we're actively seeking to buy railcars and would welcome a discussion with you.

Lastly, if we haven't yet connected, please reach out—I always value staying engaged with my current network and meeting new people. One of the most rewarding aspects of this industry is the genuine willingness to help others without expecting anything in return. If you're looking for an insightful read on becoming more helpful, consider Bob Burg's book 'The Go-Giver.' It discusses the principles of value, compensation, influence, authenticity, and receptivity.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July weekend and a wonderful summer.
